Perfect for the domestic and international time-poor visitor or business traveller with a half day to spare before a flight home or onto your next Aussie adventure. The Vale Adventure is that perfect outing to fill the gap and squeeze in some adventure by visiting some of McLaren Vale's incredible attractions.
Overview of tour
Enjoy a half day 4WD adventure around the beauty of the Fleurieu Peninsula’s spectacular McLaren Vale. Your guide, Ben is a local who takes you behind the scenes offering a rustic, homegrown insight into this intriguing region, the way locals see it. Ben works closely with his established relationships throughout the region’s wine and food industry offering a different, holistic experience for visitors onboard.
The tour runs two times a day, 9:30am and 1:30pm. Pick up is from central Adelaide from your hotel or a pre-arranged location, including Adelaide Airport. A 40-minute drive brings the tour to the world-acclaimed wine region within the Fleurieu Peninsula’s southern vales.
Unlike a McLaren Vale wine tour, the half day tour ventures off-piste via a range of thrilling 4WD tracks through stunning Aussie bushland, visiting a range of iconic features along the way with the chance to see native wildlife.
The tour drops into a couple of the local wineries getting beyond the cellar door to taste wines straight from barrel. Guests will have the opportunity to meet the respective winemaker, ask questions and importantly, taste the winery's latest release wines.
The tour makes its way to a refreshment stop-off at a strategically chosen secret location, off-piste. Depending on the time of day, canapes are served, which are all made from locally sourced produce. Morning tours will be served with tea, ground espresso coffee, freshly squeezed juices and local bubbles. Afternoon canapes are offered with local bubbles, handcraft beer, red and white wines.
From here, the tour will visit some key geological sites and take a drive on Silversands beach metres away from the breaking waves of the Gulf St Vincent. Depending on the weather, the tour makes its way up the Willunga Hills to a stunning viewpoint right over the region for a refreshing drink and a chance to take it all in.
We will make our way back to Adelaide to your hotel’s front door or pre-arranged drop off point.

Sea & Vines Weekend 2013
Jeff Wright, Head brewer at Vale Ale Beer Co.
We were looking for a company to transport us between home and a few wineries on the weekend of Sea and Vines so that we could enjoy a few beverages. I contact Off Piste to see if they were free for the day. They happily picked us up from home and returned at the end of the night with 3 wineries in between. Traffic at times around McLaren Vale was frantic on the Sunday, but luckily this was a 4WD tour and Ben was able to take us on a few short cuts down fire tracks and avoided all the slow traffic. It was a great way to see the vineyards and would definitely book him again. Thanks for the day Ben!

Thank you so much for taking us out on such short notice before heading back to Melbourne. None of us really knew much about the Fleurieu and wow! Great tour, excellent service and we all can't wait to do it all again.

Fabulous trip around a unknown part of SA. 4WD through the southern Vales and out at Deep Creek was truly breathtaking. The surprise stop off with delicious canapes over looking KI was a real treat. Highly enjoyable tour.
What an amazing adventure!

My partner and I planned to fly directly to Kangaroo Island and by chance picked up an Off Piste 4WD Tour business card from Samuel's Gorge Winery. Curious, we called and booked that day. Both of us are so fortunate we did. Ben gave us a unforgettable day showing us so many wonderful things around the Fleurieu Peninsula which we had no idea about. What a beautiful part of South Australia! Wineries, wild 4WD tracks with kangaroos bouncing through the vineyards alongside the car! Amazing lunch at a restaurant Ben choose for us and got us a table that day. Very informative, and a comfortable trip with huge amount of stories and great humour. I would recommend Off Piste 4WD Tours to anyone with a sense of adventure. Good luck Ben!
